External Allergic Reaction to Honey?

So I just had an allergic reaction to honey on my skin. I tried a a honey scrub (Honey+Sugar) on my skin to moisturize it, but i ended up breaking out in a rash, hives, and a really bad itching sensation that felt like burns. After putting aloe vera on it I tried a bit of honey on my arm and it started to break out in a rash again. Yet if I ate or drank honey I am perfectly fine. Is there any proteins or anything that could cause an allergic reaction to honey? I also have eczema if that helps.
